The specialists of the Institute’s analytical laboratory:
- study the mineral composition of rocks, ores, ore concentrates and products, wastes of technological conversion;
- study structural and textural features of rocks and ores, minerals distribution in ores, particulars of mineral species (Mass fractions of minerals, its relative position in particles, analysis of releases and intergrown pieces, computation of free minerals perimeter and etc.), having impact on its dressing technology. Visual inspection methods for rocks samples, ores and minerals in incident and reflected light are applied;
- research techniques are applied using optical and electronic scanning microscope with microprobe add-on device with the use of computer technologies for images processing and data acquisition about the chemical and phase composition.
