At the current stage JSC «Uralmekhanobr» executes engineering works and conducts scientific – research activities for metallurgical, mining and concentrating enterprises of Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Orenburg, Kirov, Kemerovo regions, Republics of Sakha (Yakutia), North Ossetia, Bashkortostan, Altai, Perm, Krasnoyarsk and Far Eastern Territories, Republics of Kazakhstan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, South Korea, Angola and China. The institute comprises two production subsidiaries in cities of Gai (Orenburg region) and Kustanai (the Republic of Kazakhstan).
Such broad geography of the organization activity facilitates to raw materials provision of Sverdlovsk region enterprises as well as distribution of intellectual, machine building and other products in regions of the institute presence.
JSC «Uralmekhanobr» is included in to the Registry of Enterprises of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry of the Russian Federation, the financial state of which testifies to their reliability as partners for entrepreneurial activity in Russia and abroad. In 2014 auditors of TUV NORD firm again confirmed the validity of the Quality Management System Certificate of JSC «Uralmekhanobr» ISO 9001:2008.
Distinctive feature of 2011-2014 is also the development of institute relations with machine building enterprises, active cooperation with foreign companies, leading universities, industry research institutes and institutes of RAS. One example of such cooperation is considered to be the work of JSC «Uralmekhanobr» with JSC «Uralmashplant» on engineering and construction of the technological complex for the indurating machine #3 of the pelletizing plant at Mikhailovsky GOK with 5mln. tons capacity of iron ore pellets per annum («Metalinvest» holding), development for obtaining the iron concentrate from Aluminium production wastes jointly with the Institute of Metals of the Ural Department of Russian Academy of Sciences and «RUSAL EPC» LLC. For the first time ever in the world there was obtained the iron concentrate with 50% iron content from red muds, which can be used for smelting after agglomeration.
Besides, scientists of the Institute created a new technology of gold gravity additional recovery from ores deposits of the North Urals, a new reagent depressor of zinc minerals for polymetallic ores flotation; there was also developed a mini-granules modelling technology for iron metallization in fluidized layer furnaces by the «Finex» technology for one of metallurgical companies in South Korea; new technologies are developed for processing oxidized nickel ores.
Tasks currently solved by the institute clearly demonstrate transformation processes from the industrial economy to the economy of knowledge. For instance, state supervision authorities approved a «Special project for mines integration with independent airing into one ventilation system of Uchalinsky and Novo-Uchalinsky mines using an underground ventilation unit of the main airing», created by scientists and designers of the Institute based on new ventilation concept of mine workings. Over the entire industrial history of Russia there was put into operation 6 such units, and recently after a long break the construction of the 7th unit was approved.
Based on own developments the scientists of the beneficiation and the agglomeration directions performed process regulations for the engineering of three Russian and one Uzbek GOKs with a total capacity of around 100 mln. tons of ore per year.
In 2012 according to projects, performed by specialists of JSC «Uralmekhanobr» the first stage of a new copper tank house for «UMMC-Holding» (Sverdlovsk region, Verkhnaya Pyshma) was commissioned. The total capacity of the tank house is 450 thous. tons of cathodes per year. the development concept was built up and investments feasibility study was performed for the construction of a plant at JSC «Sokolovsko-Sarbaiskoye mining association» (the Republic of Kazakhstan) with an annual capacity of 5 mln. tons of iron ore pellets.
Nowadays, according to JSC «Uralmekhanobr» projects the construction of several huge industrial enterprises is conducted: the modern technological complex for the indurating machine of the pelletizing plant at Mikhailovsky GOK for «Metalinvest» holding (Zheleznogorsk, Kursk region), concentrating plant of Kimkano-Sutarsky GOK with the annual capacity of 10 mln. tons of ore for the State Chinese company «China National Electric Engineering CO LTD» (Jewish Autonomous region), the underground mine of Ozernoye deposit at Uchalinsky GOK (the Republic of Bashkiria).

Generally, in 2013 the Institute designed 133 industrial facilities and performed 43 scientific-research works for a total amount of 581 mln. Roubles. The average salary amounted to 68.8 ths. Roubles. Around 40 mln. Roubles was invested to the material and technical base development. Since 2008 a corporative housing program has been realized in our Institute. Annually over 6 mln. Roubles is invested in to it. Since the beginning of the program the financial assistance was provided to 70 highly qualified and young employees. By results of 2013 JSC «Uralmekhanobr» became the winner of «Gold Mercury» National Award in nomination «The Best Enterprise-exporter in the sphere of services».
Currently, the personnel of the Institute started the engineering of the next scale project for the construction of a unique smelting complex as per AUSMELT technology at JSC «Svyatogor» (Krasnouralsk, Sverdlovsk region).
